Description:
This session will help attendees turn insight gained during the day's sessions into action back at their schools. Participants will learn of CPS's expectations for implementation of the Common Core this coming school year, as well as the resources available to support them. Models of effective teacher collaboration and schoolbased professional learning will be shared. Participants will identify opportunities for and develop plans to share their learning with colleagues.
Presenter:
Brad Cawn is the Director of PD Evaluation and Effectiveness for Chicago Public Schools, where he supports all phases of professional learning, particularly those around implementing the Common Core. He is a member of the ASCD Faculty and a teacher educator at Northeastern Illinois University. He also serves as an adviser to CTU's Quest Center CCSS Unit Development Initiative.
