Description: Participants of this session will explore a technology infused learning experience from the role of the learner. Then, they will identify and unpack the elements of the unit using the backwards design process. Participants will leave with an exemplar of how technology can be integrated, both as a tool and as a topic, into the backwards design process using the CCSS. Participants in this session will need to bring a tablet or a computer with a web connection to this session.
Presenters: Meridith Bruozas is a Program Manager in the Department of Instructional Tools and Educational Technology, Chicago Public Schools. She currently works with the Technology Magnet Cluster schools in developing technology-enhanced learning experiences and the Adobe Youth Voice program in supporting students in making digital media. Meridith has extensive experience in STEM curriculum design, educational technology and professional development.
Rob Residori is a Program Manager in the Department of Instructional Tools and Educational Technology, Chicago Public Schools. He currently oversees the Additional Learning Opportunities (ALO) project within 15 elementary schools, which focuses on integrating technology into learning in a 1:1 environment. Rob has extensive experience in literacy instruction, Web 2.0 tools, professional development and overall technology integration.
