2I. A Common Core ELA Master Class: Planning Units with the Content Framework (Double Session)

Description: Participants will strengthen their knowledge of the CPS Literacy Content Framework Planning Guides and sample grade level toolsets. They will examine how elements of the Literacy Content Framework have been incorporated throughout curriculum maps, unit plans and performance assessments.  Participants will get a chance to hear from six members of the Literacy Content Framework team about experiences developing and implementing curriculum maps, unit plans and performance assessments based on Common Core State Standards. This session is recommended for individuals who are familiar with ELA Common Core State Standards and are ready to move into developing curriculum maps, unit plans, and performance assessments. (Please Note: This is a double session and you have to sign up for blocks 2 and 3.)

Presenter: As a member of the Department of Literacy, Erin Koning has designed and facilitated professional working sessions on building performance assessments, scoring tools and unit plans aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
